Brentwood School - Brentwoodian 2020

26 Under 13As, scoring lots of tries and Teddy Matthews coming out Man of the Match. Next were the A against their Under 14As; we knew this was going to be challenging but this did not put us off. We played with spirit and scored 2 tries and 2 conversions; we ended up drawing with the opposition and chose Oliver Noble as Man of the Match. We knew we had to get home but we couldn’t leave without eating. They had hotdogs and lots of sweets, and after this there was a special event as we chose the next ‘Tour Wally’, Isaiah. After a successful day we headed home for a good night's rest. In the match, David Abraham scored 1 try in two matches. By Matthew and Robert Godley DAY 5 After a very enjoyable sleep, we woke up to a very nice breakfast to start our day. After that, we took the very smooth coach journey to the city centre, then we split up into groups of five and each group had different variations of lunches. Once everyone had finished lunch we came back to our meeting point and headed back to Travelodge. Once we had arrived back at the hotel, we had a short period to get changed in any rugby kit we wanted and to warm up for our TAG RUGBY TOURNAMENT. In this tournament we split into six different teams of five, and then three teams were in one pool and the others were in another. The tournament started off very intensely with teams going at each other at force. The winners of the two pools played each other for the Gold trophy, then the runners up played each other for the Plate and finally the teams that came third played each other for the Vase. Once the tournament was finished we quickly put our school tracksuits on, headed over to Terenure College to have some of the Leinster coaches teach us some very important tactics and skills. This helped everyone very much and everybody learnt something on that day. After the great session with the coaches, we went straight to dinner where we ate delicious pizza and for dessert, some ice cream. While we were eating, Benjamin Cope was doing his very clean dance which kept us entertained. After that appealing dinner, we headed out to ten pin bowling. We played two games and were split into groups of five, so we could have a competition against everyone. Once the bowling was finished, Mr Castleman announced the new ‘Tour Wally’ who was Benjamin.. After he had put on his uniform it was time to head back and get some rest for our plane journey home. By Nathan Killilea and Samuel Davis DAY 6 Today started with a nice breakfast at 8:30. We then proceeded to pack our bags and suitcases and tidy our room as it was our last day in the hotel. Then we went to the restaurant for Mr Castleman to hand out prizes. In first place for the cleanest room were the Godley Twins, Matthew and Robert and in second place were Nathan Killiea and Samuel Davis. There were many more prizes (including: ‘Best Tour Wally’, ‘Best Tourists’ from each team, and ‘Best Tourist Overall’). We then went into town leaving the hotel for the final time; we got the last chance to buy souvenirs and then we started our journey to the cliffs. When we got there we started walking down the hills; there was a beautiful view of the sea. Once we got to the bottom we went to a fish and chips shop where we ate lunch. We then got back on the coach and made our way to the airport. This tour has been really well-planned and put together; thank you to the teachers for organising it and taking up their time to make this tour what it was.
