35 As is always the case during musical season, Les Mis was tremendously enjoyable and the exhausting weekends undoubtedly paid off. The tight-knit performing arts community at Brentwood saw the collaboration of some of the youngest members of the school working closely with senior pupils: Anna Romhany and Charlotte Dewar and Alex Lockyer and Ben Howard playing Little Cosette and Gavroche respectively. Les Mis was an enormous challenge - taking on a light opera with an entirely student cast and orchestra is no mean feat - but it was immensely successful and amazing fun. Even after the long week of shows we all agreed that we would give anything to do another run! I don’t know how Mr Bulmer plans on topping this, but it will be fun to see him try… By Will Johnson
