Brentwood School - Brentwoodian 2020

46 U12B The Under 12B team has already shown commitment, teamwork and some amazing match play which is great as it has been our first year playing together. We’ve competed in 14 matches across the season, managing to win 13 of these matches which concluded in a total of 236 goals across all matches. Our most significant win was against St Edmund's College, where we won 41-0. A highlight of the year was winning the Brentwood District Rally, defeating Becket Keys, Brentwood High School and Brentwood Ursuline! Our training sessions took place on a Thursday lunchtime and after school, some of us also have training Friday lunchtimes for shooting practice. This training included a variety of technical, demanding and challenging drills as well as special rules when practising match play. There are certain twists to our games such as only landing with two feet, only being able to pass in position order or only being able to pass if you’re moving forward. This ensured we were constantly thinking about how we were playing and what we could do to adjust and play better. Overall our first experience as a Brentwood B team has been very successful and enjoyable, however we couldn’t have done it without our coach. Many thanks must go to Miss Preston for giving up her time and effort to help us to become the team we are now. I know I am definitely looking forward to next season and I’m sure the rest of us are too! By Brooke Skinner
