Brentwood School - Brentwoodian 2020

56 U12D We started off the D team football season straight away playing a match against Wilson’s School. We had only had one training session beforehand leaving Wilson’s with a bigger advantage. In the first half we were up by two goals, although in the second half we conceded five goals. The full-time score was 5-3 to Wilson’s. Two weeks later we had a match against City of London School but this time we came prepared and trained. We came out of that game drawing 0-0. After many training sessions and working hard to get a win, we had an upcoming game against Highgate School. We came in strong and willing to win. In the first half Aiden Li scored an amazing goal from outside the box flying straight into the top corner. The D team came out of this game with a 5-3 win. We had progressed loads and were confident to win even more games. During the D team season there were some amazing goals which included Aiden Li’s chest into the back of the net, also when Daniel Honiball stepped past the goalkeeper and scored. Overall, the U12D team progressed into a more aggressive and skilled football team. From the start of the season to the end we improved our positioning when receiving the ball and skills when on the ball. The experience of the season was great and worth every training session for every player. By Cory Pearse
