Brentwood School - Brentwoodian 2020
63 U12C We kicked off our rugby season with a training season on Friday 13th September. Five teams were formed by placing the players into random groups and monitoring each person’s level during the session. We played our first game as boys U12C against Colfe’s School. Despite the team playing exceptionally well, we sadly lost 5-30 and suffered two injuries; Sam Bolton and Max Philpott ended the game with concussions. Due to the severity of their injuries they weren’t able to play in the next match. They both recovered fully and were able to play all matches thereafter. The season consisted of 12 exciting games which resulted in 7 brilliant wins. We lost 3 games and drew 2 games. Mr Levien quickly assessed each player during the first few training sessions and matches. We participated in various drills and mini matches to address what we were doing wrong and help us learn the skills to play better as a team, tackle correctly, pass the ball and be in the correct position at the right time. The players practised as hard as they could every training session and, thanks to Mr Levien’s dedication, the team strengthened and from October to the end of the season we only lost one of the nine remaining games. Overall, we had a great season. Everyone showed commitment and dedication to working as a team and quickly got to know each other and made new friends along the journey. We had an amazing coach, who never gave up on us and allowed us to enjoy playing rugby. Thank you, Mr Levien, for your guidance and support and thank you to each and every player for your hard work during the season. Without anyone of you, the C team would not be as successful as it was. Great job and well played. By Daniel Honiball
