THANK YOU to all of you (including staff and family members!) who took part. The efforts were enough to seal the overall House Cup. Champions again. Maybe we should give another House a chance next year... Success of Weald House is down to each and every one of the amazing students, but it also requires superb leadership and I could not have asked for a better group of House Captains. House Captain, Clarise Castleman, won the prestigious Old Brentwoods Lodge Pillar in the Community Award. It is nothing less than she deserved - Clarise wrote: “Firstly, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank every single member of Weald House who has helped make my House experience as incredible as it has been. I would also like to say a particular thank you to Mr Wright, Mr Clark and Miss Martin for allowing me to have this incredible opportunity to play a huge role in leading this amazing House. I would also like to thank the other House Captains Finlay Turner and Jodie Bradley, for everything they’ve done as well as Cassie Peacock, Sam Elwood and Caroline Liu for all the hard work they’ve put into Weald. Finally, I’d like to ask that you all continue your participation and enthusiasm in the House events and continue the legacy of Weald House as champions.” Deputy House Captain Caroline Liu was the brains behind Weald and she is a credit to the School. Caroline said: “Weald house has always been my favourite place, a house full of lovely students and supportive teachers. It definitely has been a pleasure to have wonderful Housemasters like Mr Wright, Mr Clark and Miss Martin, because they are always there to help and cheer us up when trouble strikes. Also, I’m so thankful that I was accompanied by fantastic House Captains, as we always work well together. I couldn’t stress enough how I am so grateful to be the House Captain in these short two years, and able to witness everyone’s growth in the House, I really wished that I could say thank you to everyone who worked hard in participating in House events in person, how amazing you are and how significant every single one of you is to our House. I would like to say always pursue your dreams and goals, and when trouble occurs remember to count on your dearest friends or mentors around you, which is what Weald House has taught me. I wish you all the best and good luck!” If Caroline was the brains, House Captain, Fin Turner, was the brawn. I know he has inspired many of you and Fin said: “Following on from everyone’s messages I wanted to say a massive thank you to every member of the House, as an individual but as a collective. Thank you for every House event that you have got involved with, every time you have gone to watch and support a house event and all of the money we have raised for charity collectively as a team. It has been a pleasure being a House Captain and gave a sense of teamwork and cohesion like no other. I am expecting the same enthusiasm and desire in the House once we leave and I’m sure that the new House Captains will do exactly that. I think it's very important to remember all of the organisation and hard work that Mr Wright and all the other staff members put in, constantly pushing us on to be the best that we can be, enabling us to have as many House events as possible. Thank you very much, Fin”.
