Brentwood School - Brentwoodian 2020

85 Not forgetting Glebs Ribzamens and Vlad Priyma – Glebs is a bright and lively character and an amazing gymnast. He would often come into the office in the evening before going to bed and we would talk about random things – I’ll miss that. Vlad too, an incredible physical talent. He could, with ease, do one-armed pull-ups, handstands and started the House Parkour Club. Before I mention my Head of House and Deputies, I cannot forget Claud Zhu. He is utterly unique and I think kept Amazon in business; no one before or since has ever had so many parcels delivered – I am sure the Porters breathed a sigh of relief when Claud went home. When we packed up his room, there were seven boxes and six suitcases and he had to send a van from London to pick up everything. Finally, Tudor Bursuc (Deputy Head of House) – incredible mathematician, chess player, and a worthy HMC scholar. Isaac Ng (Deputy Head of House) – fantastic footballer, and someone with a good sense of humour. Last, but by no means least, Head of House, Leo Belov. What can one say about Leo? He is certainly someone who knows his own mind and will always land on his feet. He is affable and I will miss seeing him around the House. I raise a glass and wish you all health, wealth and happiness. The House moves on. Next year, we have the amazing Torres Ng as our Head of House and he and his Deputies, Adrian Li and Leo Li are certainly ready for next year and whatever challenges it may bring. As I write this, I can hear fireworks in the background, and the House is once again full of noise, chatter and clutter. Christian’s lost several pairs of underpants, Alex has injured his shoulder and needs Deep Heat, one of the showers upstairs has stopped working and we have run out of Nutella! In the words of Maya Angelou “Life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.” And you know, she’s so right. It is. By Mr Taylor
